You have acquired the best ODBC in
the HP marketplace - now make sure your
end-users understand how to put it to
use effectively and efficiently. That
is the goal of this three-day program.
We will work with your administration
team to review your environment and your
installation plan to determine if the
MBF-UDALink ODBC driver is being deployed
in the most effective manner.
We will assist your technical staff in
establishing host configurations, data
configurations and user configurations.
Your users will learn how to access their
data in the fastest most efficient way.
In the end, templates will be created
for future processes. Both your company
and MB Foster will benefit from the knowledge
gained. MB Foster will rely on this knowledge
to facilitate and future technical support
needs.
The Administrator
Program
This portion of the
program includes an overview of the MBF-UDALink
Driver features, functions and benefits.
You will be instructed in accessing data
from your HP e3000, HP9000 and additional
platforms using popular desktop products
such as MS Access, Impromptu etc. We will
review the process of updating databases
as part of the program. As client requirements
are important; we will instruct you in
methodologies for data source setup on
your client desktops. And instruct you
in the various methods of troubleshooting
and the associated logging methods you
can use.
Host Configuration
The focus will be on establishing connections
to your data servers and creating User ID's
that are unique to an individual or a group
of individuals. Instruction will be given
in how User ID's can be further customized
to provide or inhibit access to data as
required. User Tables that define which
areas of the database are available to which
users will be covered in this module. You
will be educated in setting up environments
that grant Read Only Access or Write privileges
to database.
The End User Program
Your end users will be given an overview
of the MBF-UDALink Driver. We will instruct
them in Data Source creation, attaching
to host tables and accessing the data using
third party desktop applications such as
MS Access, MS Excel and Impromptu.
