In the centralization of 40 public schools in a midsized Danish city, the identity management software EasyIQ played a leading role to enable a maintenance-free Active Directory that automatically creates, maintains and disables students

The Danish city of Herning needed to centralize the administration and information technology of their 40 public schools. The local government contacted Microsoft to find the best solution for handling the process. Microsoft’s answer was EasyIQ - Systemtech’s identity management software for educational institutions.

Mr. Helge V. Rasmussen, administrator of School Information Technology in Herning, says ”In EasyIQ, we have found a joint administrative system that ensures a uniform and automatic creation and maintenance of students. EasyIQ has also ensured a smooth integration of the student databases from the different public schools - a task which we had anticipated with great skepticism.”

Herning now offers teachers, administrative and IT employees, new solutions which eliminates trivial, time-consuming tasks and reduces human errors in manual tasks. ”Previously, when changing from one school year to another, our employees have had to carry out a lot of manual tasks, but EasyIQ now automatically completes these tasks allowing our employees to concentrate on other tasks while ensuring a high service level,” says Mr. Rasmussen.

Modular structure

EasyIQ’s modular structure makes it possible to create a solution which meets the demands of both the local government and the different educational institutions. In Herning, the EasyIQ solution consists of the two basic modules EasyIQ Basic and EasyIQ Administration. Herning has also implemented EasyIQ Employees, EasyIQ Password, EasyIQ Print and EasyIQ Exam. Herning plans to extend the EasyIQ solution with more modules over time when the need occurs.
